Thanks to exceptional aerial images and spectacular moments of free flight, you will discover like never before the most beautiful places and landscapes of France. An incredible journey of 10,000 km with a total of 15 places flown over without leaving Paris. Marvel at the village of Gordes in the heart of the Luberon or the impressive cliffs of Etretat, then head for the Loire Valley to admire the emblematic castles of Villandry, Chenonceau or the special light of the Azay-le-Rideau castle. Feel the wind in your hair as you fly over the volcanoes of Auvergne and take a deep breath over the wild ridges of the Vercors. Trace through the bay of Saint Malo and Mont Saint Michel and touch the archangel with your fingertips. Contemplate the beauty of Paris or the little Venice in Colmar and discover the village of Kaysersberg. Finally, the highlight of the show, take off at an altitude of more than 4000 meters on the Mont Blanc route.
To achieve this feat, FlyView relied on several large-scale 3D scans and exceptional aerial filming across France using microlights and drones. In figures: more than 30 days of 360° aerial filming in 10K for an exceptional image quality, more than 10,000km travelled, a hundred hours of 8K 360° images and some firsts in tandem flight: the Gorges du Verdon, the Aiguilles and the Mont-Blanc massif at more than 4500m altitude. The experience was also made possible by the creation of a 3D model of Mont Saint-Michel of great precision, made with the help of drones by the Centre des monuments nationaux in 2022. This model, composed of several billion points, reconstructs, thanks to the technology of photogrammetry, the entire village and the abbey in volume. For an optimal rendering of the real-time experience, FlyView is equipped with new HTC Vive Pro headsets with a combined resolution of 5K (4896 x 2448).
This new flyover is a hybrid creation that combines 360° video with several new sequences in real-time 3D. Visitors are guided through a 360° image, the realism of which is reinforced by haptic devices (wind, jetpack movements on jacks); sometimes, at the turn of a virtual portal, they find themselves totally free to move in real-time 3D landscapes that are as realistic as they are dizzying. "The Flight over France" marks a new stage for FlyView, which is developing a more immersive technology for greater interactivity with visitors.
The France Flyover experience was born from a meeting between FlyView, Atout France and the Centre des monuments nationaux. Through this invitation to explore France, they wish to encourage the public to discover the tourist and heritage offer of the different French destinations. FlyView, Atout France and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux are thus realizing a common ambition to discover France by offering an original experience that will appeal to all generations.
