Designed in collaboration with the French start-up Iconem, a pioneer in the digitization of heritage, the 360° virtual reality experience is the result of an extraordinary entrepreneurial and scientific adventure that has seen Iconem conduct large-scale 3D digitization campaigns in Egypt and around the world. The technology used consists of a high-definition X-ray composed of hundreds of thousands of photos.
Reunited for this first production, which foreshadows a long adventure, FlyView and Iconem share the same ambition, if not a common challenge:

Iconem is a startup specializing in the 3D digitization of heritage sites. Founded in 2013 and active in 28 countries, Iconem's mission is to contribute to the conservation of these threatened sites by digitizing them for exploration and study. Its team of experts travels around the world, leveraging the large-scale scanning capability of drones and the photorealism of 3D, to scan archaeological and historical sites endangered by looting, urbanization, mass tourism, armed conflict or climate change.
Iconem works with international organizations, governments and communities, and museums of international stature such as UNESCO, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, the Sultanate of Oman, the Mairie de Paris and the Louvre Museum. Iconem's large-scale 3D models of monuments, urban and rural heritage, and its training courses for professionals facilitate the essential work of conservation and restoration for heritage experts. Iconem also creates digital experiences for museum exhibitions that immerse visitors in magnificent and inaccessible testimonies of our past.
As a result of its partnership with Inria and Microsoft Research, Iconem's technology is based on AI and its computer vision algorithms and has allowed us to become a leader in photorealistic 3D digitization of cultural heritage sites.
